KakiLang

'KakiLang' - People of Our Own

A social initiative to encourage active living amongst seniors in Singapore

Why did we come up with KakiLang

Less than half of Singapore's seniors lead an active lifestyle.

Keeping an active life not only maintains health, but ensures a healthy mind.

It's also worthy to note that...

The number of Singaporean seniors living alone will likely increase by 30% in 2030.

Seniors living alone are twice as likely as their peers to develop depressive symptoms.

Interaction & Emotional Support are key to prevent their mental health from declining.

What does KakiLang emphasise on?

1. Our main aim is to help seniors maintain a more active lifestyle through means of a community via our KakiGroups! (community groups)

2. At the same time, we want to empower youths to initiate & join KakiGroups to help seniors stay active.

3. Through this initiative, we hope that the community spirit will encourage more elderly to maintain an active lifestyle, at the same time, bridge generational gaps !
